Plan for Your Next Holiday Road Trip in the New 2020 Ford Explorer

The holiday season is the time to get together with friends and family. But what if you’re a little further away than over the river and through the woods? That means it’s road trip time, and what better way to go than in the 2020 Ford Explorer? It has all the comfortable amenities, the latest technology, and plenty of power to get you wherever you need to go.

Stylish, Comfortable Interior

When slipping into the cabin of the newly redesigned Explorer, you immediately appreciate the refined look and feel. Tri-diamond perforated leather seating, the hexagonal, carbon-fiber-lined front dash, rotary shift dial, and ergonomic design all combine to create a sophisticated style.

The available multi-contour seats with Active Motion technology will make those long holiday road trips feel like a day at the spa. Five massage themes can target your upper back, lower back, and pelvic region.

Seating for up to seven passengers comfortably will please the whole family. E-Z Entry second-row seats tilt with the push of a button for third-row access. If you need more room for transporting presents, the second and third-row seats fold flat.

Technology for the Road

Ford Co-Pilot360 is a suite of driver-assist technologies designed to make your driving easier and safer. The suite is standard on every Explorer and includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. This system uses radar technology to monitor any vehicles in front of you, keeping you at a preset speed and distance. The system slows you down as the traffic slows, even to a complete stop. When the way ahead clears it will return you to your preset speed and distance.

The Lane-Keeping System uses optical sensors to keep your Explorer within marked lanes. When it detects a drift, the system will alert you with visual and audio cues. Drift too often and it recommends you take a break for coffee.

Automatic Emergency Braking uses similar technology to monitor the road ahead. When it detects a collision is imminent, it will apply additional brake pressure if necessary. The Reverse Brake Assist system does the same while driving in reverse.

Ford’s BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) will alert you when vehicles enter your blind spots. It works with the Cross-Traffic Alert when in reverse, alerting you to a vehicle crossing behind you.

Power To Perform

If you really do have to go over the river and through the woods, Ford’s Terrain Management System is there to help. It has seven selectable drive modes to help you navigate the toughest conditions. Choose Normal mode for everyday driving and Trail mode is good for those dirt roads.

Deep Snow/Sand mode is perfect for when those wintry conditions create a white Christmas and the roads get soft. If it’s raining instead of snowing, Slippery mode will help you grip the road. Sport mode will dial in your suspension and throttle for a thrilling ride. The Tow/Haul mode will take your camper along for the ride. Eco mode is ideal for the long highway miles.

There are many more reasons the Explorer is ideal for your next holiday road trip. Come test drive one today and see which 2020 Ford Explorer is right for you.
