Backbar

You’ll take a tasteful journey when you visit Backbar where the cocktail menu is inspired by interesting locations around the world. With specialties like the Captain’s Log, Above the Cloud Forest, Paper Crane, Queen of Sheba, Kulukki Kush, and Yunga Punch you’ll have a chance to sample cocktails inspired by Japan, India, Bolivia, Central America, and the Atlantic Ocean. Plan a visit Monday through Friday starting at 6 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m., and stay until midnight to thoroughly quench your thirst.

The Banshee

Cool brews, great food, and lively entertainment amid a friendly and sociable atmosphere describe the scene at The Banshee. The popular pub is the place to go for viewing European and American sports. With 10 flat-screen TVs to choose from, you have the perfect seat upstairs or downstairs to cheer on your favorite team. The pub opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 11 a.m. the rest of the week, making it a great location to enjoy the breakfast menu.

Deep Ellum

This bar is named after one of the best-known areas in Dallas for food, music, and more. Owners Max Toste and Aaron Sanders bring that vibe to Boston with their own version of Deep Ellum. The bar/restaurant is a blend of casual, fun, and friendly with a choice of a variety of craft beers, an assortment of classic cocktails, flavorful wines, and a diverse menu of delectable delights.

Whether you’re out early or plan to be out late, Deep Ellum is ready to serve. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Brunch is served until 4 p.m. every day, and dinner is available from 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Doyle’s

Enjoy a little bit of history when visiting Doyle’s, in business since 1882. The historic pub located just minutes away in Jamaica Plain offers the friendliness of an Irish pub and an inspired menu. For refreshing libation, pull up a stool at the well-stocked bar featuring a variety of domestic and international brews. If you’re in the mood for an appetizer or a meal, Doyle’s features not only Irish cuisine but also a taste of Italy, Germany, France, Cuba, and America with entrees such as fish and chips, pizza, knockwurst and potato salad, quiche, Cuban sandwiches, and Boston-style clam chowder.

The cafe/pub opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday through Sunday with closing time at midnight Sunday through Tuesday and 12:30 a.m. all other nights. The kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
