The Unknown Marketplace will hold a special holiday shopping event at Winsmith Mill on Saturday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Browse for home goods, art, clothing, jewelry, and handmade items by local artisans, including many picks that have a spooky twist. You’ll also find food, candy, and treats. Market at the Mill takes place at 61 Endicott St.


2. Costume Hop

Norwood Recreation hosts this family-friendly costume hop for kids ages 3 to 6 on Thursday, October 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dress your little ones in their costumes so they can trick-or-treat and take part in the parade. You’ll also enjoy pizza, crafts, face painting, dancing, and games.

The event costs $10 for Norwood residents and $15 for non-residents. The Costume Hop will be held outdoors at Norwood Senior Center, 275 Prospect St. If rain occurs, the event will move to Norwood Civic Center, 165 Nahatan St.


3. Walpole Recreation Celebration on Main

Located just a 5-minute drive from Norwood in your Ford Escape, this holiday event is hosted by Walpole Recreation. More than 400 families meet annually at Stone Field at 10 a.m. for the costume parade, followed by trick-or-treating at participating Main Street businesses.

This year’s Celebration on Main will be held on Saturday, October 26. Preregistration is required for the event, which costs $5 for Walpole residents and $10 for non-residents. Stone Field is located near the intersection of School St and Stone St in Walpole, next to the public library.


4. October Teen Crafternoon

This laid-back event is for kids in grades 6 and up. They can learn how to sew an adorable but creepy Frankencat at Walpole Public Library, 143 School St in Walpole. RSVP online for this free session, which includes all materials as well as some snacks.
