The 2020 Ford Escape is a versatile SUV that offers some great features for adventurous drivers. It’s been completely redesigned for 2020 and has a spacious interior, eye-catching looks, and sporty handling. Let’s take a look at what you can expect from the Escape this year.
Exterior Styling
You can choose your Ford Escape from one of the five available models. They are the S, SE, SE Sport Hybrid, SEL, and Titanium. Some of the features that are standard across all trims include dual chrome exhaust tips, LED signature lighting, and a body-colored rear spoiler. Upgrade your trim level to get features such as a hands-free foot-activated liftgate, a black mesh chrome surround on the upper grille, and black roof rack side rails.
Interior Comfort
Inside the 2020 Escape, you’ll be comfortable and ready for anything. At the S trim level, you’ll find front cloth bucket seats, second-row sliding seats, a six-speaker stereo, six cup holders, and a rotary gear shift dial. When you opt for one of the upper trim levels, you’ll find features such as leather-trimmed front bucket seats, a B&O sound system with 10 speakers, eight cup holders, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and ambient lighting. A panoramic vista roof is also an available option for some trim levels.
Modern Technology
You’ll have no trouble staying connected when you drive a 2020 Escape. The available Sync 3 infotainment system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, so you can access all your favorite apps while commuting to work or on a road trip. Use the enhanced voice recognition and the capacitive touch-screen to help you keep your eyes on the road.
With FordPass Connect, you can use your SUV as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot that can be used up to 50 feet from the vehicle. The FordPass Connect app allows you to start and stop your vehicle, lock and unlock the doors, check your fuel level and mileage, and so much more all from your smartphone.
Superior Performance
There are a few options to consider when it comes to power for the Escape. The first option is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost motor that produces 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. Next, you can get a hybrid 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four engine that puts out 200 horsepower. Finally, a 2.0-liter Ecoboost engine with auto start/stop technology is also available. Both of the EcoBoost engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that moves easily through the gears. Selectable drive modes can help you tackle any road conditions and include eco, sport, normal, slippery, and deep snow/sand.
Reliable Safety
Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim level of the 2020 Ford Escape. It includes driver-assist technologies such as pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlamps, a lane keeping system, and a rearview camera. The available active park system will make parking in any spot a breeze. It helps you locate the perfect parking space, and then you simply stop the car, shift into neutral, and hold down the active park assist button, and let the car do the rest.
