2020 Ford Explorer in Norwood, MA | Ford Dealership

The Ford Explorer has always been one of Ford’s most popular SUVs, and the 2020 Ford Explorer even comes with more advanced features and specs compared to its predecessors. Also, its all-new exterior design makes it one of the most attractive SUVs on the market today.

All models of the 2020 Ford Explorer come with a ten-speed automatic transmission regardless of the engine type. Other features that come standard with all models include a rearview camera, three 12-volt power points, a reverse sensing system, FordPass Connect, lane keeping assist, and traction control. There are four available trim levels for the 2020 Ford Explorer, and here are the highlights of each one of them.

XLT

The XLT trim level of the 2020 Ford Explorer can have up to seven passengers, and it’s available in both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. It comes with a 2.3-liter inline-four engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. A heated steering wheel is optional for the XLT trim, but it comes standard with the other trims.

Limited

The Limited trim level of the 2020 Ford Explorer can have up to six passengers, and it’s available in both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. It comes with the same inline-four engine of the XLT trim level, but it also comes with an optional 3.3-liter hybrid engine that delivers 318 horsepower combined. The Limited trim has more advanced interior features and entertainment systems than the XLT trim including a sound system by Bang & Olufsen that features 14 speakers, a voice-activated navigation system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

ST

The ST trim level of the 2020 Ford Explorer can have up to six passengers, and it’s only available in all-wheel-drive. It also comes with Ford’s Active Park Assist system, which will steer your Explorer into any parking space while you only control the brakes and accelerator. If you love sports cars, the ST is the perfect Explorer for you. It’s the only model that delivers 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque with the 3.0-liter V-6 engine, making it the most powerful and fastest Explorer, as it can reach a top speed of 143 miles per hour.

The ST is also the only Explorer that comes with Ford’s unique sport-tuned independent front and rear suspension, which makes it more fun to drive compared to the rest of the models.

Platinum

The Platinum trim level of the 2020 Ford Explorer can have up to seven passengers, and it’s only available in all-wheel-drive. Although it comes with the same engine of the ST, it only delivers 365 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. After all, it’s more about luxury and comfort, as it comes with other features that aren’t available for the other models including illuminated front scuff plates, a unique front grille, and perforated leather seating surfaces.
