About the Ford F-150

F-Series trucks have been in production since 1948, with the fourteenth generation of the F-150 starting in 2021. The thirteenth generation ran from 2015 until 2020, and the generation previous to that ran from 2009 until 2014. The full-size pickup truck is typically available in the following trims; XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. Special editions include the Tremor and the Raptor. An all-electric F-150 Lightning hits the market in 2022. Cab styles include; Regular Cab (one door on either side), SuperCab (one full-size door on either side and a slightly smaller door on the rear), and the most popular Crew Cab (2 full-size doors on either side). Typical box sizes are; 5-1/2', 6-1/2', and 8' boxes, however the size of box available may depend on the cab style. Engine choices include the popular V6 turbo EcoBoost engine, a 5.0L V8, and for a short time between 2018 and 2021, a 3.0L PowerStroke diesel was available.
