2023 Ford Maverick in Norwood, MA
By definition, a maverick is someone who acts differently from what you expect. The all-new Ford Maverick lives up to that definition in every possible way. It's not your average pickup truck, and it's defying expectations you never thought possible. From its exceptional fuel efficiency and affordable price tag to its spacious interior and funky design, the Maverick is both practical and punchy. Want to know more about what makes the new Ford Maverick so unique? Keep reading to find out.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The all-new Maverick is a high-efficiency, compact crew cab with a short bed that comes in three trims — XL, XLT, and Lariat. Its unique design blends the best features of classic crossovers and heavy-duty pickup trucks to give you something in between. Whether you're looking for a hard-working truck or a fun, funky ride, the Maverick brings you the best of both worlds. Building on the Maverick's 2022 debut, Ford raises the stakes for this year, by adding a new Tremor Off-Road package that's available for XLT and Lariat models. Featuring a heavy-duty transmission cooler, all-terrain tires, upgraded shocks and running gear, and a revised suspension that provides an extra 1-inch of ground clearance, the Tremor package makes the Maverick ideal for off-road adventures.
Engine (Power)
The new Maverick might be compact, but it packs a lot of punch. Base models come with a 2.5-liter, inline-4-cylinder engine that's mated to an electric motor and a 1.1-kilowatt-hour battery pack. It pumps out 191 horsepower and sends 155 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels for a smooth, easy ride. Ford also offers an optional 2.0-liter, turbo 4-cylinder engine that kicks out 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The added power and quick acceleration ramp the Maverick up from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 7 seconds.
Performance
With skyrocketing prices at the fuel pump, you need a pickup that won't break the bank. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates Maverick hybrid models get an incredible 42 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Non-hybrid, front-wheel-drive models get 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel-drive variants shave just 1 mpg off those numbers.
Interior
On the inside, the Maverick offers a slew of creature comforts, including a roomy backseat and plenty of storage space, bins, and cubbies. Base models come equipped with a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, remote keyless entry, and adjustable front seat lumbar support. Higher-end XLT and Lariat trims offer a host of optional features, including dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, and power front seats. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot round out the standard tech features on all Maverick models.
Safety Features
If safety is your top priority, standard driver-assistance features on the new Ford Maverick include automatic emergency braking and automatic high beams. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
