The Ford F150 Lightning comes in four trim levels: Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum. The XLT comes with LED mirror-mounted spotlights, heated side mirrors, and integrated side mirror turn signal, options that cost extra on the Pro model. The XLT also features a carbon black fixed extended running board with enhanced lighting. The Lariat steps things up with power-folding mirrors featuring LED security approach lamps.
The stunning F-150 Lightning Platinum comes standard with a twin-panel moonroof, 22-inch bright machined wheels with ebony painted pockets, and a high gloss black grille with tinted chrome that's sure to make an impression on the road.
Power
The F-150 Lightning comes with all-wheel drive and two electric motors that work together to deliver 452 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of peak torque. This setup provides a max towing capacity of 7,700 pounds and an EPA-estimated driving range of 240 miles. You can charge the battery at home from 15% to 100% in just 10 hours. The available Pro Power Onboard generator lets you power appliances outside the vehicle with a 9.6 kW plug-in.
Performance
When Car and Driver tested the Lightning, it went from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds and sped up to 107 mph to cover a quarter-mile in 12.7 seconds. This truck's independent front and rear suspension and low center of gravity make it easy to handle. Trailer sway control comes standard, and integrated trailer brake control can be added to help you tow heavy loads.
Interior
The Lightning is available only with a crew cab. It features ample seating with front bucket seats and a 60/40 split bench in the rear. The 12-inch digital productivity system is a notable feature for this class. If the truck bed doesn't meet your storage needs, you can also take advantage of the 14.1-cubic-foot "frunk," a trunk located under the front hood.
