2022 Ford F-150 Towing Capacity

If you're looking at purchasing a truck to tow with you might be wondering what the 2022 Ford F-150 towing capacity might be, and it can be a complex subject. It's not as easy as one might think as the towing capacity varies based on how the individual truck is built. Factors that affect how much a truck can tow are; drivetrain, engine, rear axle ratio, suspension, trim level transmission, hitch type, and class to name but just a few.

There is a rule of thumb formula you can use to figure out an individual trucks' max trailer towing capacity by using some math, and for this, you'll need to find out the curb weight and GCWR of the truck. you. These weights can typically be found on the door sticker. Take the GCVWR minus the curb weight, minus weights of fuel, cargo, accessories, and passengers and you'll get the max towing capacity.

When manufacturers advertise towing capacity, it's worth noting that these numbers are usually taken from the highest possible towing number usually only available on a very specific truck build, including a towing package properly equipped, and including one passenger at 150lbs. Use the following numbers as a guide only, and be sure to check and calculator individual truck specifications, and door sticker numbers properly before towing. Here are some examples of 2022 F150 maximum conventional towing capacities. This does not include all combinations of possible truck builds.
