Impressive Engine Choices

Both the 2022 Ford F-150 and the 2022 RAM 1500 offer a range of engine options for buyers to consider, making it easier to find the model that aligns with their lifestyle and needs. The F-150 has engines with output ranging between 250 and 450 horsepower and 265 and 570 pound-feet of torque. The RAM 1500's base engine puts out 260 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, and it's slightly less efficient than Ford's base engine. You can also opt for an all-electric version of the Ford truck, which is known as the F-150 Lightning.

Towing Capacity

Another area in which the F-150 beats out the RAM 1500 is its towing capacity. When properly equipped, Ford's truck can tow up to 14,000 pounds, which is over a thousand pounds less than the max of the RAM 1500. If you need to tow, the F-150 with the EcoBoost engine or the diesel engine is a good choice for towing.

Mobile Generator

If you want to use your truck as a mobile generator, the Ford F-150 offers this as an option. The Pro Power Onboard feature allows the pickup truck to produce up to 7,200 watts of power. You can also add the optional Work Surface feature, which isn't available on the RAM.
