2018 Ford F-150 vs 2017 Ford F-150
You can't go wrong when you decide that a Ford F-150 should be your next truck. The F-150 ranks as number one in its class across several different categories, and it's hard to beat the sheer power than this model offers. Now that 2018 Ford F-150 models are starting to stream in, it's time to decide on the 2018 Ford F-150 vs 2017 Ford F-150.
The 2018 Ford F-150 and 2017 Ford F-150 have a lot in common. You'll see many of the same trims, same options when it comes to cab style or bed length, and the two are both made from military-strength aluminum, which removes the possibility of body rust and greatly reduces the overall weight of the truck.

What is the difference between the 2018 Ford F-150 and 2017 Ford F-150
Out of all the available engines, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 is probably our favorite on both the 2018 Ford F-150 and 2017 Ford F-150. While the actual specs of this engine have gone unchanged from last year's model to the current iteration of the F-150, you'll actually find a considerably higher max tow rating. Because the 2018 Ford F-150 has shaved off more pounds – it is up to 700 pounds lighter with its all-new style – the engine can put more power into the task at hand, raising its max towing rating all the way to 13,200 pounds – 1,000 more pounds than what the 2017 F-150 can tow when properly equipped.
Another big change is that the 2018 Ford F-150 will be available with a diesel engine (later release) -- which is a first for the model! In general, though, you will find very similar towing and hauling ratings across both models. So, unless you need the extra max-towing power, are interested in a slightly higher MPG rating or love the all-new design, you may prefer to stick with a 2017 model.
